At the end of the last season, Saudi club Al-Hilal made an approach to Bruno Fernandes over a move to Saudi. However, the player opted to stay at United, after discussing with family. The player claimed he has unfinished business at United.
He also pointed to the fact that his kids are all in Manchester and he feels a move will destabilise their development. The Saudi club made a huge financial offer of €200m over the period of 3 years.
Also, Casemiro’s Manchester United contract is set to expire on June 30, 2026. Manchester United have the option to extend it to one more year. However, due to the age of the player’s age and his decrease in pace and power, it is believed that Manchester United will allow him to leave the club at the end of his contract. This also means the club will opt against the one-year extension.
For Bruno, the club hierarchy anticipates the return of the Saudi clubs, and are of the belief that Bruno will take the offer next summer and leave. They also stand to loose Casemiro on a free, without renewing his United contract. This means they need to be proactive in this transfer window to ensure that they have replacements for these players in case they leave the club.
